~~Interview~~ Emily Millennium

She’s a writer, she’s an artist, she’s an all-around awesome and God-fearing young lady, and she’s an avid Star Wars fan. Today, it’s my honor to introduce you to my friend and fellow blogger, Emily Millennium of “The Ink-Stained Desk”!! (Also known among Aetherlighters as Emily Purplebottle. πŸ™‚ ) My questions and comments will be in boldface, and Emily’s answers will be italicized.

INKY RAMBLEBEAST: Thank you very much for allowing me to interview you, Miss Emily! Without further ado, QUESTION 1: How and when did you start writing?

EMILY MILLENNIUM: I started writing after a friend of mine published his book. I’d always tried writing before but it wasn’t till then that I actually got into it.

IRB: That’s pretty much how I started drawing, so I totally get that. XD QUESTION 2: How and when did you start blogging?

EM: I started blogging in February because I liked your blog so much.

IRB: Daaawwwwwe, I appreciate that! *is blushing uncontrollably* QUESTION 3: Tell us about your writing project.

EM: My book is tilted Course to Earth. It’s genre is science fiction and it is set in 3018. The main character is Erin Shadows who lives on a star ship called the Comet. She shows very little emotion and speaks very little to her crew except when giving commands. As protagonists sometimes do, Erin has a tragic backstory in which her family died. Supposedly. Erin’s brother could still be alive, and though she never told anyone, she has looked for him in all 19 galaxies, but to no avail. After firing second mate, Jackson, who drove Erin mad with his optimism, she received a message from him telling her that the Supreme Collector Cami Siem, ruler of the 19 galaxies, and also a good friend of Erin’s, was hunting her down. Either she came to him and basically gave him her life, or he would destroy her home, The Milky Way. This sends her fleeing to Earth, a planet that became uninhabitable 18 years ago, and finds there something very important.

IRB: Sounds like a great read! And how’s it going so far?

EM: It’s progressing. I took the advice of author Chuck Black and am writing different chapters instead of writing from chapter one to the end all in order.

IRB: I’ve never heard of that tactic before. Interesting! QUESTION 4 (the last question was just part of question 3 hahah): How do you motivate yourself to write?

EM: I usually listen to music and read about writing stuff.

IRB: I get that. πŸ™‚ QUESTION 5: What is a Bible verse and/or quote that inspires you?

EM: Psalm 1:3 – “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” That verse has just always stood out to me.

IRB: Beautiful! I love that verse as well. ^.^ QUESTION 6: What is your favorite thing about writing?

EM: The characters! I think I’m in love with my side character…

IRB: I’ve been there. 😜 QUESTION 7: What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

EM: I’m not sure yet. Maybe the fact that it’s not fiction writing and not an essay. I can just write about whatever.

IRB: Yes, I also really enjoy that freedom. QUESTION 8: Are there other activities besides writing that you enjoy?

EM: Ice skating, art, drama, being with friends, travelling.

IRB: Those are all quite legitimate answers. πŸ˜€ Now, because I know you love Star Wars, QUESTION 9: Porgs — friends or food?

EM: Friends! They’re so cwudily and cute and soft…hehe…

IRB: They’re awfully sweet little guys, aren’t they? Finally, QUESTION 10: Would your character Erin rather be a Jedi or a Sith?

EM: I think she would rather be a Jedi despite the fact that she’s her own villain for 75% of the book.

IRB: I guess it all depends on what side you stand for. πŸ˜›

EM: Well, that was fun! Thanks Dekreel.

My pleasure!! πŸ˜€ Now everyone else go show Emily some love and support by checking out her blog. She definitely needs it and deserves it. πŸ™‚

That was super fun!! I think I’ll do more in the future.

Do Tell!! Did you enjoy this interview? Should I continue to interview other people? What’s your opinion on Porgs?

Hope you guys had a great July! And if you’re doing Camp NaNo, I hope it’s going well for you! See you in August, Hunters. πŸ˜‰
