~10 Things That Make Me Happy Rules~
Thank those who have tagged you // Thank ya, Chalice and Kenechi!
List 10 things that make you happy.
(Linking to them, sharing pictures, writing poems about them, telling jokes, etc. are all encouraged but not required.)
Tag 10 people who make you happy.
1) What is your theme song? (like the song that you relate to and you know all the words to when it comes on)
Definitely “It’s You” by TobyMac. That song describes the things I’m going through very well, and it’s a great reminder how God is always in control, and with Him “everything else just falls in line.” It’s also really, really pretty. 😭
2) Are you more of a leader type or a follower type of person?
Follower. Whenever I’m in a leader position, this is what happens:
Followers: “Dekreel, what do you think we should do?”
Me: “I don’t know, I’ll leave it up to you guys.”
Followers: “You’re the leader; it’s your choice!”
Me: *panicking inside* “Ahhhh uhhhhhm uhhh, I really don’t have an opinion. Someone else be the leader, okay? Someone with an opinion.”
. . . Then again, sometimes when I’m in a follower position, this happens:
Leader: “Let’s do this thing.”
Me: “No, no, I don’t want that. I think we should do that thing instead. I like that thing much better.”
Then again I’d also feel bad for bossing the leader around.
Maybe when I’m leader I do have opinions, but I hate forcing other people to follow them because what if they wanted something else.
I guess I’m a leader disguised as a follower. . . . .????
I’m just confusing myself the longer I talk, aren’t I?
. . . . . . . .
3) What is a weird habit or quirk of yours you can’t seem to break? (biting nails, tugging on hair, picking lips, twiddling thumbs, etc.)
I can’t pin down just one; there’s a lot of them. That’s the thing about being autistic. 😛
I do bite my nails. In fact I have never used a nail trimmer before because of it. I ALWAYS have to have nail polish on or else I will keep biting them until it hurts. It’s really annoying, and I don’t know how to shake it.
I also rock back and forth, make random noises, and bounce up and down when I daydream.
4) Do you ever just walk outside on a beautiful day and close your eyes and take a deep breath of fresh air, and it just makes you feel happy inside?
Yeah. . . yeah, I’ve done that. Where I live there are only a few select weeks of the year where I’m inclined to do things like that though. The rest of the year it’s warm, muggy and stupid.
5) When you bake (if you bake ever) do you ever just taste a random ingredient, even though it is normally not eaten by itself? (flour, brown sugar, butter, unbaked unsweetened dough, and etc)
I could see myself doing that, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve done it before; I just don’t remember. What I know I do like to do, is put my hand in flour. It feels like a cloud. It’s amazing. :3
Speaking of flour, here’s a fun little random tangent for ya. One time when I was little I discovered a bag of flour in the kitchen, and I decided to investigate. Unfortunately while my curiosity was strong, my tiny child hands were not. You can probably guess what happened next.
So now there was flour all over the kitchen floor. I don’t remember what I was thinking at the time, but it probably went something like: “Oh gosh, Mom’s gonna be so mad and. . . wait. . . you know what this stuff looks like?!”
I then proceeded to start rolling around in it, yelling “SNOW! SNOW!”
My mom came in to find this:
~Three Fun Facts~
1) I’m going to fly in a plane by myself for the first time in a couple days and I caN’T GET OVER IT *concerned shrieking noises* I’m flying to my aunt’s house. I’m excited.† ^.^
2) My back is itchy.
3) I’m tired and I can’t think of more fun facts.
†EDIT: Yeah, that’s not happening anymore. I had to cancel the trip because of the coronavirus. :((((
~Ten Things That Make Me Happy~
I’m not exactly a shopping addict, but we don’t have much money so we don’t get to do just-for-fun shopping very often, so when it does happen, it’s a lot of fun. 🙂
(I’m going shopping for pants later today and I’m soooo excited ehhehehehehhhhh)
Cats have such personality and charm and I LOVE them. Especially the ones that let me pet and cuddle them. They’re really pretty too. They look so sleek and regal and AUGH.
And need I mention KITTENS? 😍
Dangit, now I want to cuddle a cat. . .
*one cat-napping mission later*
I have now acquired a cat. Let us move on.
(Cat: “Why are you like this?”)
3) Musical Aesthetics
Don’t you love it when you’re listening to music, and something happens at the PERFECT time? Like the music suddenly gets more intense just as someone, like, turns on a vacuum cleaner? Those moments? I live for those moments.
Ask me what I think we should do on a holiday or weekend, and I will almost always say something like, “Let’s go on a road trip” or “How about we drive to that cool park a hundred miles away” or maybe even “Let’s go interstate!” Even small adventures like going to a restaurant or an area of town I’d never been in before are wonderful opportunities for new discoveries.
I don’t know a lot about how to operate a camera and its settings, but it’s really fun to experiment.
6) Praise Team
I sing for my church’s praise team, and it’s honestly one of the funnest and most uplifting activities ever. Getting to experiment with harmonies with other singers, getting to talk music with the worship pastor, and best of all getting to worship God after a hard week, is an amazing privilege.
7) The Smell of Books
Whenever I find a new (or at least new-to-me) book, one of my first instincts is to open it up and give it a big sniff. Book smells are fascinating, and so diverse; it’s almost like books have personalities based on their smells.
I have a button collection. I don’t know why. I’m not huge on arts and crafts, I can hardly sew, I can’t knit or crochet. . . I just really like buttons. I like to imagine they have personalities based on their shape, size, color, even how many holes they have. It’s fun.
I live in a region that’s very flat, so whenever we drive somewhere with hills, I can’t help but gaze out the window in wonder. There’s something so magical and beautiful about driving through hills. Going up a hill gives me a sense of anticipation. Like how high up does this hill go? What will I see when I get to the top? Will the climb be worth it? It stirs up my adventure juices.
And don’t even get me started on mountains. Mountains. are. amazing.
I love rodents of pretty much all kinds. I dunno, there’s just something about their little faces that appeals to me. It’s one of the reasons I used to keep mice and hamsters as pets, and my dream pet is a rat.
~My Favorite Posts~
I don’t like the term “Best Post”, so here are some of my favorite posts instead.
Anyone who hasn’t done either tag yet. Have fun! 😉
