I really didn’t want to disappear from the face of the blogiverse again. . . yet here I am. Making my check-in after a month and a half of cricket noise.
It doesn’t help that not a lot is going on in my life right now. Well. . . okay that’s not true; stuff has been happening. But nothing worth a blog post. WELL. . . that’s not exactly true either; there are things I could talk about. Art, tags, quarantine happenings. . . It’s hard because at this point it feels like everyday is the same. These past few months have been a foggy blur of getting up, sitting at the computer, working on stuff, doing a bit of art, watching YouTube, playing games, talking to friends over the internet/phone. . . How am I supposed to blog about my life when everyday is more or less the same?
I could talk about the stuff I’ve been watching on YouTube; a couple friends got me into a few gamers that I really like, but I don’t know who would want to listen to me ramble about that.
I could talk about the friends I’ve been hanging out with, and all the great fun we’ve been having together, but I don’t want people to potentially feel left out, and I don’t want to elevate this group of friends over all my other friends. All I can say is, I love them to absolute death. <3
Anyway, here’s a bit of life update stuff.
I finished high school.
I wrapped up my final subject a couple weeks ago. I am now technically graduated. Weird. o.o The general plan is that I’ll go to community college next month, or in January if that doesn’t work out. I’m probably going to try out a graphic arts major or something similar and see how that goes.
I applied for a job last week.
If I end up getting it, it will be my very first official job. I’m nervous, but the pay is pretty good so I hope I get it. It will be at a nearby grocery store. I’m shooting for the “Maintenance Rep” position, which is just a fancy word for “janitor.” I know, not spectacular. 😛 But it works.
I might officially take up digital art!
99.9 percent of the art I do is traditional (on paper). From my perspective, digital art is a mystifying practice. But a few days ago I was just messing around with the computer program I use to clean up scanned art pieces. I was drawing a rabbit face for a small project. And I found, after months of experience carefully blotting out flyaway strokes and wrong ink lines from hand-drawn artwork by mouse, that I had gotten very comfortable with the practice, and that drawing something in the program itself was oddly easy — almost natural! And I realized more and more that — omigoodness — I could totally develop my skill in this! So I don’t need a tablet and stylus and a super-fancy, costly drawing program after all?? Suits me!! 😀 😀
This is what I was drawing, by the way. No, it’s not perfect and it’s not gorgeous, but as a very novice digital artist, I’m pretty happy with it and I’m SUPER excited to continue playing around with this medium!
That’s about all I can think of talking about right now. I promise I won’t disappear again — at least not for a whole month. I’ve actually been working on another post that will hopefully go up next week, so keep an eye out for that.
I hope y’all are doing okay! Stay safe, and all eyes on God. 👌
What kinds of posts do you want to see from me in the future?
