It’s complicated, really. . . as I am known by several names and faces.
Many identify me as an eccentric, wolf-like beast who scratches walls when she’s excited and loves randomly pouncing on things. Plus she has a name that nobody can pronounce correctly (How many times do I have to tell people? It’s not DEH-kreel, it’s DEE-kreel.).
A select few might picture me to be a happy, somewhat snarky kid with short blond hair and glasses and can often be found munching on fig newtons and making skeptical remarks. While she may look very different from her alternate furry self, Peregrine is still me, nonetheless.
Still another set of beings sees me as I truly am: A tall, round-faced, broad-shouldered young adult known as “Joy” — ambiverted, known to be somewhat. . . joyful, loves music and yet is utterly clueless about all the trendy songs that everybody is singing, and plays cajon.
To make things simple, I will just refer to myself using the name of the wolf-like beast.
I am Joy S.F. Dekreel, also known as the “Inky RambleBeast.” Inky because I love to draw, and pens are one of my favorite mediums. Ramble because I talk too much (I’ve probably talked wayyy too much already). Beast because, well, that’s what I am, right? Don’t worry, I try to be a nice beast. 😉
I like to draw. Most of the work I do is manga-esque cartoon people. I’m no expert yet, but hopefully I’m getting there. To be honest, it’s quite hard to tell whether I’m improving or not. 😛 But nevertheless, I love it very much.
I also write. Sort of. I’m not an aspiring author who wants to publish a fantasy trilogy like some of you peeps (just one book would be nice), but I guess I know a thing or two about writing. I’ve been told I’m a good writer; the problem is it’s impossible for me to write for myself. Ninety-nine percent of my writing is fanfic and roleplay. It’s very inconvenient.
I am an ENFP. One of the few ENFPs I know (at least in my circle of internet gal-friends) who doesn’t trail confetti and sparkles wherever I go. I’m not hurting on the ENFPs to do trail confetti and sparkles, nor am I trying to generalize too much, I’m just not one of them for some reason. Usually. Under normal circumstances.
I am a downright nerd. Ask me about soundtracks, classic Doctor Who, Minecraft, steampunk, YouTube animators or penguins and I will bore you silly fangirling about them.
Most importantly, I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ is God, and that He humbled himself and became man, was persecuted and executed on a cross to pay for the world’s sin, rose again after three days and ascended into heaven. I believe God watches over me and every other follower, and that He is all-powerful and all-knowing. He is Ruler and Author of the universe, has been throughout all of history, and will be for all of eternity. I’m still learning how to follow in his footsteps. It’s hard, and I’m far from perfect by Old Testament standards, but it’s becoming more and more clear with each and every day that passes how much I need Him. I hope I can use this blog to spread Christ-like love to my readers, no matter how not-humble I tend to be.
His Kingdom come, His will be done.
