One day, when I was a wee lass (like eleven or twelve), I picked up a Magic Tree House book (anyone remember those?) set in historical Japan and read it. It was then when I discovered the art form of short yet unique poetry known as the haiku. By the time I finished reading the book, my creative juices were already starting to churn. I picked up the nearest notebook and composed my very first haiku. . .Continue reading “Haikus!”
Okay, this place accumulated way more dust than it should have. 😛 So after a month of silence I think it’s time that I (attempt to) resurrect this blog. I guess I could do a tag, but I’ve done a lot of them recently so I kind of want to hold back for another post or two.
I hate it when I can’t think of anything to write about besides tags. Don’t get me wrong — you guys have given me (and shown me) some really cool ideas, but I don’t have the confidence to do them myself yet.Continue reading “Blowing away the dust”
Greetings, one and all! Hope you’re having a fine weekend. I sure am!
(At least I better be. I’m writing this on Wednesday, so for all I know I could be having an absolutely horrible weekend. But anyway. . .)
I had the privilege to interview one of my closest internet friends. She’s a writer, public speaker, entrepreneur and fellow blogger. Her name is A.N. Parker of Tales of the Spiral! (Also known as Nola Applequill among Aethasians and Aurora Parker among pirates.)Continue reading “~~Interview~~ A.N. Parker”
I like classic books. It’s among my favorite genres. I don’t think I would have ever gotten into them if it weren’t for literature class. 😛 So shout-out to my literature teacher!! You’re the best, ma’am. 🙂
Why am I bringing this up? Well, because classics are cool, of course! But also because. . . .
It’s a party!Continue reading “It’s Sooooo Classic!”
Today I’m excited to pass on another tag! Unlike the first two book-related tags I did, this one I didn’t snatch without permission. 😛 Thanks, Emma, for nominating me!! Y’all go check out her blog (Seven Billion Smiles); she and her sister do some really awesome stuff there. 😉
The rules are pretty straight forward. Thank the tagger, answer the questions, nominate some more peeps and give them new questions, the usual. 🙂Continue reading “Seven-Questions Book Tag”
Heyo, Hunters! Today I’m snatching up another reading-themed tag, this time from my friend Jane Maree. I didn’t know I liked book tags so much. X’D Live and learn.
According to the apparent originator of the tag, I’m supposed to “do the obligatory side-eye at the fact it is June and [you] don’t recall expressly giving permission for that to happen”. Well all right then.Continue reading “Mid-Year Book Freak-Out Tag”
*cringes under all the cold glares*
Yes, yes, yes, I am completely aware that I ought to be ashamed of myself for reading the Harry Potter books. And I honestly am a little bit; I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
In any case, they turned out to be pretty review-worthy, so here we are. (Please don’t kill me. . .)
Sorry this post is late, by the way! I was hoping I could get it done on time but. . . life happened. 😛Continue reading “~~Book Review~~ Harry Potter”
Since I started using Goodreads I’ve developed a peculiar fondness for books. I’m still not a bookworm or book-dragon so much as a book-cat (meaning, I love books but I’m not utterly obsessed with them. It’s like more passive), but I didn’t realize how much of a reader I was until recently.
So when I saw the Do I Have That Book challenge over at Jenna’s website, it immediately peaked my interest. So today I shall woefully break the Eighth Commandment and steal a tag from her.Continue reading “CHALLENGE: Do I Have That Book?”
